Dining Alfresco- NYC


If you’re anything like my friends and I, all summer long, you send and receive texts- where should I go to eat and sit outside?

I’ve compiled some of my favorite spots to dine outdoors around the city.

Gemma– Bowery Hotel
See and be seen. Outdoor tables along the Bowery. Delicious, easy, Italian.
Must try: Focaccia Robiola, Truffled Polenta Fries, Rigatoni with prosciutto, peas and cream

TRE– Lower East Side
Charming garden in the back. Reasonable, tasty Italian.
Must try: Melanzane alla Parmigiana, Caprino Croccante

Osteria Cotta– Upper West Side
Street side tables. Delicious pizzas
Must try: Brussel Sprout pizza, Ricotta and Pesto crostini

Gran Electrica– Dumbo, BK
Outdoor garden. Intimate. Delicious tacos and margaritas.
Must try: Guacamole, Ceviche, Margarita Eléctrica
*Great spot to visit after walking across the BK Bridge!

Home– West Village
Outdoor garden. Rustic, cozy, simple.
Must try: Mussels, homemade ketchup, blue cheese fondue, Mac and cheese.

Palma– West Village
Outdoor patio, Romantic. Authentic Italian food.
Must try: Homemade pastas, Risotto bites, Meatballs

Tre Otto– Upper East Side
Charming garden. Cozy, authentic Italian food.
Must try: Homemade pastas, Fresh pizzas and salads

The Standard– Meatpacking District
Classic NY. Street side bistro. Great for brunch
Must try: Buttermilk Pancakes, BLT turkey club, Raw Bar

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve found myself on here! Life has been a whirlwind lately of finishing up wedding planning (3 weeks to go!), celebrating, being a bachelorette in San Juan, and attending a wonderful Bridal Shower thrown for moi. I will be sharing highlights of all this soon!

My kitchen has been quiet on the new recipe front, not much time for trying new things- I’ve been sticking to quick old faithfuls that I can make effortlessly. But I do have a lemon sugar cookie recipe coming up that I made around Easter time, they were delicious so I must share.

We leave for ITALY the Monday after our wedding and I have been busy shopping, reading up on restaurants and planning fun things to do while we are traveling. Rome-Florence-Capri-Positano-Ravello: suggestions, must-do’s, thoughts, please do share in the comment section!

I’m finally at a point where everything is pretty much done for the big day. It’s a great feeling to finally be ready to sit back and get excited to become a Mrs.!

Spring has been kind of iffy here in New York, but I’ll leave you with a pretty shot of the flowers lining Park Avenue, so quintessential.
